Fukurokuju (福禄寿) is one of the Seven Lucky Gods (Shichifukujin) in Japanese mythology. His name is composed of the three terms "Fuku" (happiness), "Roku" (wealth), and "Ju" (long life) – thus, he embodies happiness, wealth, and old age.
He is typically depicted as an old man with an exceptionally high forehead, a long white beard, and often accompanied by a crane, a turtle, or a deer – all symbols of longevity. Fukurokuju is considered a sage who knows the secrets of life and is particularly revered by those who wish for health and a long life.
