About us..... that's us

In Japan, politeness plays a very important role.

Of course, we would also like to introduce ourselves to you personally.

We are Dorothee and Stephan Zimmer, and we are not only united by our passion for Japanese culture, sushi, East Asian martial arts and painting. We are also a family with two wonderful children, Charlotte and Oskar.

We have both been practicing Japanese martial arts for over 30 years and have been traveling to Japan regularly for several years. That's where we discovered the Kakejiku scroll paintings. We quickly became fascinated with this special art form and it decorated our own four walls. Friends and acquaintances have repeatedly asked us where we can buy these paintings.

In 2014 we decided to share our passion for Japanese culture with them.

After we had established very good contacts with Japanese antique dealers in Tokyo and Osaka, we were able to get started.

One picture became two and we now have more than 300 works of art in our range.

Several exhibitions and our customers from Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg and many more show us that this was the right step.

Since we started, we have received a lot of praise and recognition. We are very pleased about this. We hope that you are as enthusiastic about our selection of Japanese art as we are.
